License Renewal Process in a Nutshell
Register with the Vermont AOE's online system (ALiS) and verify/update profile contact and Employment information so we can see your items.
Document and upload evidence of newly completed PD with Descriptions and Impact Statements.
Complete Transition Form if applicable.
Submit to LSB for review (with processing fee).
Once approved by LSB, complete and submit application to AOE.
If prompted by AOE, complete Criminal Record Check (CRC).
Submit payment to AOE promptly as there is a time limit.
View Renewing your Teaching License slide presentation for overview of process.
Also see Renewal and Resources pages for guidelines, tutorials, documents, helpful links, and blank forms
Note that the number of professional learning hours at the bottom of the current Level II renewal process flowchart (linked to the AOE's website) is outdated. To renew a Level II (5-year) license, 90 hours total are needed, with 30 hours specific to each endorsement area. See this update.
