I am an associate professor at the Industrial Engineering Program in Sabancı University. My current research focuses on developing global optimization methods for mixed-integer nonlinear programming problems arising in engineering optimization and stochastic optimization.

Before joining Sabancı University, I spent one year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Tepper School of Business in Carnegie Mellon University, where I worked with Gérard Cornuéjols on portfolio optimization and stochastic programming problems.

I obtained my PhD degree of Operations Research at the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering in Georgia Institute of Technology. My advisors were Santanu S. Dey and X. Andy Sun. My dissertation focused on developing global optimization methods for optimal power flow and transmission switching problems in electric power systems.

I obtained my BS degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics from Boğaziçi University with High Honors. I also hold MS degree in Industrial Engineering. My advisor was İ. Kuban Altınel.
