Kirkwood DECA Qualifies 10 for ICDC - 4 State Champions

Kirkwood Pioneer School of Business Students excel at DECA State Championships
Twenty-nine Kirkwood High School marketing students were among the 1,650 students from throughout the state who competed in the 63rd annual Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference held the weekend of March 13-15 at the Lake of the Ozarks. Ten of these students won in their categories with four being named state champions: Brad Kuziel, Charlie Jaschek, Max Knudsen and Casey Hackett. According to marketing/business education teacher and DECA advisor Bryce Bunton, these 10 students qualify for the International Conference that will be held April 29-May 4 in Orlando, Fla.

The DECA state conference is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. DECA is an international association of high school students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Missouri DECA ranks sixth in the nation in membership with more than 9,100 members. There are 178 DECA chapters across the state.
