Using the plans as a guide, measure the top of the bat box to ensure the 2 roof pieces will completely cover the top:
(Not shown: Cut out the two rectangular roof halves.)
Next, you will need to bevel the edges of the roof halves so the form a point.
Go slowly, as this can be difficult if your plywood starts to come apart.
Since the angle is so steep, I used a chisel again, instead of the table saw.
After roughing in the bevel edge, I carefully finished with a sander.
Repeat for both roof halves. Test-fit the two halves to ensure they fit as tightly as possible.
Now, apply sealant to the top of the box, and attach the two roof halves (I again used brad nails.)
Later we will add cedar roof shingles, but this step should be as watertight as possible!!
Later, we will paint the box, which adds another level of water proofing, as well as some cedar shingles (optional, but I think look nice.)
