Next I assembled the four sides of the box. Remember that the house needs to be watertight, so you may need to do some sanding to ensure a tight fit.
I used a brad nailer and wood glue to firmly attach one of the front pieces to the sides:
Then I sealed the first 2 edges with roofing caulk:
Then I nailed on the final side, and sealed the remaining two edges.
This was tricky due to the length of the box. I ended up "dangling" a long snake of caulk down the tube, then pressing it into place with a moistened finger.
The end result was good, but made a pretty huge mess!
Now, we bevel the edges so that the roof top will fit correctly. I used a simple wood chisel to get it close, then sanded it until it was flush:
