Interesting Articles about Burke's Garden:
Things to Bring Along:
#1: Be sure to dress warmly - bring more layers than you think you might need and wear gloves and something to cover your head and ears. It will be at least 10-15 degrees colder and there can possibly be strong winds in the the Garden. Remember Burke's Garden is the highest valley in Virginia.
#2: Be sure to bring your binoculars to get a good looks at the bird species we may find. If you have a spotting scope and tripod that would also be beneficial in locating birds of prey at a distance.
#3: Bring a camera or your cell phone. The Garden is very photogenic and you will want to take some pictures to remember your day. I will be snapping pictures during the day and will post them for everyone to download the next day.
#4: This trip is involves stopping at different locations to scan for bird species and to take photographs.
