Living the Adventure of Scouting Since 1945
Troop 202 meetings are held at the Chino United Methodist Church on Riverside Drive. Our meetings are every Monday at 7pm. We have proudly been a part of the Chino Valley community since 1945.
Scouting is one of the largest and oldest youth organizations the world, having just celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2010. It is also one that is immediately recognized and respected by many people throughout the world.
Troop 202 and its leaders strongly believe in the character building that comes from following the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Boy Scouts is designed to be a boy-run program. The Scouts will get out of Troop 202 what they put into it. Leaders work with youth to try to keep the "outing" in Scouting by offering plenty of activities of all kinds. That includes service projects, planning and preparation for camp-outs, weekly meetings, and Eagle Scout projects.
We also strongly believe in parent participation in all Scouting activities. The youth who get the most out of Scouting are those whose parents are visible and active.
Parents play a key role in the success of Scouting, you help motivate your son, provide moral support, and help as you can with Troop activities. It is because of this that we hold a monthly parent meeting, and expect 12 Troop service hours per year from the parents of each Scout.
As you learn and grow with us, your Scout's responsibilities will increase. Developing self-confidence, self-reliance and leadership skills are key goals of the Scouting program.
Boy Scouting is for boys who are 11, or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, through 17 years old. Boys experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, fun with friends -- and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime. Give your son a valuable gift by encouraging him to join Boy Scouting today. The time you invest in him today will make a difference in the person he becomes tomorrow.
We meet weekly on Mondays at Chino United Methodist Church at 7pm.
You're welcome to just stop by, or if you have a whole den, you might want to let us know ahead of time that you're coming.
