Quality work is critical in anything professionals do and one highly reliable way to know "quality research" and "professional achievements" is when it is recognized by peers and granted accolades or awards by prestigious organizations and committees that are well-known to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and award innovative, original, and groundbreaking contributions/discoveries. One original and quality work/publication, setting a new direction in research or removing a difficult barrier in a field, when acknowledged/recognized by an independent, reliable, and anonymous panel of peers, worth many publications.
As Charles De Gaulle said "Authority must be accompanied by prestige and prestige comes only from distance [Le Fil de lepee, 1934]."

Dr. Bruce Chehroudi was a Research Staff Member and Post-Doctoral Fellow at Princeton University, where he collaborated extensively with Professor F. V. Bracco in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Their collaborative research focused heavily on the physics of fuel injection, spray formation, and combustion processes, particularly in internal combustion engines and liquid rocket engines. Key aspects of their work include:
Publications: They co-authored numerous publications and university reports, such as "Injection Pressure, Poppet Lift, and Spray Photographs of the General Motors COPI Injector" (1986) and "Velocity Measurements in a Hollow-Cone Spray" (1986).
Awards: Chehroudi, Bracco, and S-H Chen were jointly awarded the prestigious SAE's Arch T. Colwell Merit Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the literature on propulsion and power systems technology.
Research Areas: Their research involved advanced instrumentation and optical diagnostics, including the use of laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV) and positron annihilation for measurements of drop size, velocity, and intact core length in sprays.
Legacy: Professor Bracco played an integral role in sustaining Princeton's eminence in combustion research, advising many students and staff, including Dr. Chehroudi, who have gone on to hold significant positions in academia and industry.

The Frederick E. Terman Award was established by the faculty of the Lyle School of Engineering to recognize the late Dr. Frederick E. Terman who served on the Board of Directors of the former SMU Foundation for Science and Engineering from 1965-1977 and as its first president. The awards are awarded each year to graduate students whose scholastic attainments and contributions to the School are judged to be in the highest tradition, which is exemplified by Dr. Terman.
The Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges.
