In association with the RSPB plans, BAA has assembled and installed two barn owl nest boxes on poles in a bid to attract these birds as a natural way to control pests such as mice and rats, it is deemed a highly suitable solution as they are a nocturnal hunter and the supply of prey [pests] is likely never-ending from the surrounding fields and woodland.

The boxes can be seen at the South end of the site in each corner, made by the Freds Graves & Suddaby and Christian Hilton, installed with further help from Alec Western and now simply awaiting their tenants.
