About Us
BottosCon is an annual board gaming convention that has been running in Vancouver, British Columbia since 2007. From our humble beginning with 32 attendees, we have now grown to almost 150 regular attendees. All sorts of games are played, with an emphasis on historical military simulations. Think GMT West with a Canadian flair. BottosCon draws the majority of its attendees from British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington State, but also sees attendees from Alberta, Ontario, California, Florida, Idaho, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Sweden. BottosCon is home to George Kelln's ASL West Coast Rumble.
Since the 2009 con featured in the video below the convention has grown substantially – and is now hosted above ground in a spiffy hotel.
Reviews by attendees
"I'm back from a weekend at the 2013 edition of BottosCon, the "best little wargaming convention that could."
Here is testimony by Wilhelm Fitzpatrick regarding his experience at BottosCon 2013.
"It was a fun weekend. I got to meet a lot of new people and play some good games. [...] Playing games for three days and seeing the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. Who says that I have to grow up?"
Steve Lieske enjoyed his time at BottosCon 2013 and share his weekend here.
"I admire Rob for working *so* hard to give everyone a good experience - he was tireless, but also honest in his dealings, and I suspect that while most people would agree with that comment, few truly understand even in a passing sense what is involved in mounting a gathering like this."
Doug Cooley reports on his 2011 Bottos Con experience (at our previous location).
