Boston Massacre 2025 will use Carnhik+ scoring. It's a new scoring system developed by TD Alex Maslow, so be sure to let him know what you think about it.
Carnhik+ is a modification of Carnhik scoring which is a modifcation of Carnage scoring.
Here's how all those scoring systems breakdown.
Carnage scoring is:
Players win points based on center count order at the end of the game. The player who has the most has 7000 points, the next player has 6000 points, then 5000 points, etc. Players who are eliminated are awarded the lowest score remaining - the first player eliminated has 1000 points, the second player eliminated has 2000 points, etc. If there is a tie the points are combined and split, so if there is a tie for 1st place both players receieve 6500 points. If there is a four-way tie among the last players they'd all recieved 2500 points.
In addition, players are also awarded 1 point per supply center they own. These are generally considered to be tie-breaker points.
If a player solos the board, they score all available points, 7000+6000+5000 etc AND 34 points for all the centers on the board. This gives them a total of 28034. This is true whether they got 18 centers, 20 centers, or were conceded the solo by a vote.
---
Carnhik scoring uses all of the above rules and also awards 300 points to the player with the highest center count for each center they have above the next player. So if the top player has 12 centers and the next player has 9 centers, they get an extra 900 points. If there is a tie for board-top, there are no extra points. These points are also not awarded for solos - they are still awarded 28034 points.
---
Carnhik+ scoring uses all of the above rules and also 100 points for the player in second for each center over the 3rd place player. So if the 2nd place player has 7 centers and the 3rd place has 5, the 2nd player gets 200 more points. If there is a tie for 2nd, these points are not awarded. These points are also not awarded for solos - they are still awarded 28034 points.
