THROUGH THE LENS   

Was an exclusive 4 photographer exhibit in the garden featuring Kerry Hayes, a celebrated international film photographer, CBC's co-ordinating producer Timothy Neesam, and the County's own (late) Gene Ouimette and Doug Johnson.

SENIORS BENEFIT CONCERT 

Seniors from long-term care facilities across Prince Edward County and elsewhere came out to this annual event at Black Walnut Gardens to share stories, enjoy refreshments, and hear Classical music and spiritual songs, played by the fabulous Port Milford Orchestra.

 

HAITIAN FUNDRAISER 

From Qatar, London, Paris - across Canada - and right here in Prince Edward County - people gathered together to raise funds and awareness for the still urgent needs for Haiti.

On Saturday July 3rd, Black Walnut Gardens, opened its doors and gardens to well known Haitian musician Jaffa Charles,  Haitian street artists  and Canadian photojournalist  Nick Kozak to display photography, Haitian paintings, music and children's art for a fundraiser - "Haiti.. For the ChildrenThe event was a resounding success with donations going to Plas Timoun, a healing centre for children in Haiti.


 Drums and Other Spirits

Drums & Other Spirits began with a workshop that paired accomplished musicians with young, aspiring musicians. The event culminated in a public performance featuring both the professionals musicians and their "proteges". Proceeds went towards future music lessons for the young participants.

CABBAGES, FLOWERS & HAYFIELDS (to celebrate Milford's Heritage).

Was as a musical, flavourful, and garden filled toast to bygone days where guests enjoyed beautiful gardens, antique farm and garden tools, and music in the hay fields with Emily Fennell and Kim Inch. This was a unique and interesting Milford 200 event that was held the day after the 2008  Fair.

CANCION 

Cancion was a Canto Nuevo concert featuring acclaimed Latin musicians Heather Chetwynd 

and Marcelo Puente 

 

 Black Walnut  Gardens home
