Bioinformatics is becoming increasingly important due to the interest of the
pharmaceutical industry in genome sequencing projects. There is a vital need to harness
this information for medical diagnostic and therapeutic uses, and there are opportunities
for other industrial applications. This field is evolving rapidly, which makes it
challenging for biotechnology professionals to keep up with recent advancements.
Biotechnology information system network (BTISnet) is unique and one of the
well recognized major scientific networks in the world, dedicated to providing the-state-
of-the-art infrastructure, technologies, education, manpower and tools in bioinformatics.
Biogrid
To enable access by the student and scientific community from across the country, the twelve institutes of India are connected through Biogrid on VPN nodes are actively pursuing Bioinformatics activities such as Human Resource Development, R&D activities in Bioinformatics besides dissemination of Biotechnology information to researchers in the country.

SCFBio provide free supercomputing access to scientific community and students across the globe. You can create an account in our Supercomputer and run your computationally intensive programs in our Supercomputer. To get an account on the SCFBio Supercomputer the user has to fill a form abiding with the terms and conditions mentioned therein.
