It went on for rather more than 400 posts, and rather more than a week.
The thread on the BBC Archers Messageboard ("Mustardland") became "The Cellar", when a poster called Sam loaned us the virtual use of his very own cellar. As the BBC system at the time allowed only up to a maximum of 2000 posts on each thread, it became necessary to create new Cellars.
By the time the BBC closed down the Archers Messageboard in February 2013, we had filled no fewer than 45 Cellars, a sustained posting rate of only just under 100 posts per day.
