Indian Lore was very popular at camp,
especially with Andy Yantis' inspiring leadership
L-R: Jerry Leonard, Andy Yantis, Hal Blackmarr, Joe Glisson, and Henry Bookout.
(This photograph (in black & white) was used for the cover of a BSA-wide Indian Lore Booklet)
1954 - Hiking Into Bert Adams
Most likely from the train station in Vinings
1954 Trading Post at Old Bert Adams
Unidentified staff members enjoy a Coke at the old trading post. This photo was probably taken for the Coca-Cola Company and is from the Georgia State Archives.
1955 - Buddy Board at the Swimming Pool
Basketry Merit Badge (1955, '56, or '57)
Judging from the T-shirts this is around years 1955-1957. To your webmaster's memory, the scout in the center looks like Rob Cross, who was the Nature Director in 1960
1956 Troop 61 Checks In
Troop 61 of Smyrna checks into what we believe to be campsite #3 - some of these Adirondack shelters were moved from the old camp to the "new" Bert Adams.

1958 Adams Apple Newspaper
The camp newspaper was the Adams Apple!
1958 David Ginn - This is our favorite because it's the typical "postcard from camp." Even more interesting because your webmaster (Tom Watson) and David were friends at Bert Adams in the 60's. (David, if you read this-- and I know you're out there still doing magic-- drop me a line and I'll return this card to you.)
