As part of the Leo Baeck Summer University in Jewish Studies that took place at the Humboldt University Berlin in 2008, we, the undersigned, have dealt with questions regarding post-war German-Jewish life and contemporary Jewish life in Germany.
In this context we have focused on the history and especially the memorialization of the former Jewish Displaced Persons Camp in Düppel, located in the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf.
This website is a virtual testament to our search for its remnants as well as to our efforts at understanding its failed memorialization. It is our hope, that this website will become - with time and the help of our visitors - a virtual memory of this exceptional piece of history.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Atina Grossmann for her continuous support of our investigations.
