Good News About the Best Kingdom Government for Humanity!
Mankind has tried every form of government imaginable without success. Why do they fail? To begin with humans are short-lived mortals. At death even well intentioned human efforts cease leaving problems of mankind unsolved. Note this scriptural advice from Psalms 146: 3, 4. “Put not your faith in rulers, or in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation. Man's breath goes out, he is turned back again to dust; in that day all his purposes come to an end.” ~Basic English Bible. Add to this the hidden evil influence that foils human’s desire to live harmoniously. “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.” ~1 John 5:19 ASV
Thus it is clear that humans need outside assistance when it comes to good government. When on earth this is exactly what Jesus Christ taught. He taught his followers to pray for a heavenly kingdom to come to mankind’s rescue. (Matthew 6:9, 10) God’s heavenly kingdom government with Jesus as ruler is not established by any human efforts. (Compare Psalms 2: 6-8; John 18:36)
When will this Kingdom come? Keen students of the Bible and history take note that the heavenly Kingdom has been ruling for some time now! Sitting at God’s right hand in heaven the appointed time for Christ to begin ruling “amidst [his] enemies” arrived early in the 20th century. (Psalms 110:1,2) Jesus first action as empowered ruler was to oust Satan and his “demon” angles from heaven. (Revelation 12: 9, 10, 12) The woeful signs of the times give evidence that this humanly unobservable event really did take place around the time of the First World War. (Matthew 24:1-14)
This is truly Good News because it means that soon God’s will, shall “be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Just imagine how different it will be here on earth without the activity of the wicked! Psalms 37: 10,11 says, “For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there. But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalm 72 describes conditions under the Messianic Kingdom, note verses1-4, 7, 8, 12-14 “God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son. He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness. He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces. In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth. For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper. He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy. He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence.” ~WEB
