This page lists the research projects I'm currently involved in as PI, co-PI or main investigator (projects that I was working on as a PhD or postdoc are not listed). At the bottom of the page, a quick list of past projects is present as well.
Project coordinated by KU Leuven. I am the local PI for the ICube Laboratory (funding: 750k€)
The ATLAS project is an Innovative Training Network funded by the EU under the Marie Slodowszka-Curie Program. ATLAS stands for AuTonomous intraLuminAl Surgery. Intraluminal navigation and surgery is particularly challenging, and ATLAS target many different subfields in order to advance minimally invasive interventions. Due to the tortuous nature of the intraluminal navigation, ATLAS deals mostly with flexible robotic systems such as enndoscope and catheters.
I am specifically working with various PhD students, in collaboration with ATLAS partners, on aspects related to image tracking of soft and flexible robotic systems, tissue recognition for enhanced diagnosis, flexible sensor design, and coordinated control of complex endoscopic robots.
Personal project funded by ANR, 250 k€. See the dedicated webpage
ROBOT (2017-2021): The ROBOT project advances the state of the art of robot-assisted biophootonic imaging in the digestive tract for cancer diagnosis. In Strasbourg, we have looked (among other things) at advanced control strategies for automatic steering of an OCT probe using visual servoing (post-doc: Zhongkai Zhang). Project funded by INSERM under the Plan CANCER framework. Coordinator: Nicolas Andreff, Femto-ST Besançon. Local PI in Strasbourg: Florent Nageotte
COSMIC (2017-2019) : seed fund for a starting collaboration with FEMTO-ST (Besançon, France), working on coupling endomicroscopic imaging with concentric tube robots. Co-PI with Kanty Rabenorosoa (15 k€)
CROCOS (2018): seed fund from CNRS to help develop ideas that would later become the MACROS project (10 k€)
