Toranut
Toranut are the chores that all Bayitniks are must complete every week in order to keep our Bayit clean! Our responsibilities rotate so that we all keep a stake in every part of our house. It’s each house member's responsibility to check the Toranut schedule every Sunday and Wednesday. Wednesday Tasks must be done between Wednesday at 6 am and Thursday at 6 am and Sunday Tasks must be done between Sunday at 6 am and Monday at 6 am. The Toranut Coordinator creates and disseminates the Toranut schedule and task descriptions, assigning responsibilities to each household member. Additionally, the coordinator oversees task completion and may levy fines or assign additional Toranut duties to Bayitniks who fail to fulfill their roles punctually. Task assignments and descriptions may be revised by the coordinator, and the Toranut coordinator holds discretion over cleaning standards. Here are some examples of Toranut tasks you could be asked to do:
Refrigerators: Clean and organize the main walk-in fridge, throwing out items that are spoiling or unlabeled.
Ovens: Clean the inside of the ovens, burning or scrubbing off residue.
Dining Room Floors: Clean the dining room floors, moving furniture as necessary.
Fruit Run: Top up our produce supply midweek with a run to the local fruit stand.
Laundry: Wash and dry the kitchen towels, blankets in the lounge, lounge bathroom towel, and tablecloths.
Compost: Take our full compost bags to a bin around the corner.
Appliances: Clean the outside and inside of the various kitchen appliances and lounge appliances, including toasters, microwaves, the air fryer, coffeemaker, blender, and food processor.
Stovetops: Clean the stovetops and grates.
