E-Board Positions

These are the positions on our executive board, elected at our first house meeting every semester. New bayitniks are highly encouraged to read this list and consider running for a role! E-board members have reduced cleaning responsibilities (Toranut) to compensate for their increased contributions to the house. All board members also attend a weekly meeting that is scheduled at the beginning of the semester.

Internal Manager

This role is good for someone who is timely, thorough, a strong leader, able to stay unbiased, composed, and respectful. This is the only role on the e-board that is not open to new Bayitniks.

External Manager

This role is good for someone who is a good communicator, can be available at any time, and has a professional attitude.

Kitchen Manager ("Instacart")

This role is good for someone who is organized, timely, self-motivated, understands how to work with a budget, can take criticism, and is responsive to the voice of the house.

Inventory

This role is good for someone who wants a consistent schedule, is organized, can communicate well with others, and likes work with others.

Toranut Coordinator

This role is good for someone who is organized, timely, diligent, clean, and able to have tough conversations with people or be the "bad guy" from time to time.

Meals Coordinator

This role is good for someone who is organized, loves to use WhatsApp, is comfortable in the kitchen, and is competent with dietary restrictions.

Social Coordinator

This role is good for someone who is enthusiastic, social, has good follow-through, is creative, and is accessible to others.

Financial Manager

This role is good for someone who is very well-organized, knows how to handle discussions about money and keep them confidential, can state their ground in difficult situations, and is comfortable using (or learning to use) Excel or other accounting software.

Religious Coordinator

This role is good for someone that has a working knowledge of Jewish religious law, likes to ask and answer questions, and is committed to pluralism in the house.

Bayit Recruiters (2)

This role is good for someone who has an interesting social circle, understands house dynamics, and is a great communicator.

**Shoppers (3)

This role is good for someone who likes the consistency of doing the same job every week (because it fully replaces Toranut responsibilities) and can comfortably lift and carry 20-30 pounds.

**Bagels and Mail

This role is good for someone who is an early riser on weekends and is a good communicator with the financial manager.

** non-E-board positions, which entirely exempt the holder from Toranut responsibilities.
