Conference Location: 1500 Wesley W. Posvar Hall
Instructions for Paper Presenters and Discussants
Each paper author will have 15-20 minutes to present their work, which will be discussed by 1 or 2 discussants (depending on the format). Please bring your slides on a USB drive to load before your talk.
Each discussant should plan to speak for 5-10 minutes. In addition to providing specific comments on each paper, we would also like discussants to comment on how the research relates to the broader aims of the conference. The first aim is to address how models of politics be used to study "behavioral" concepts---either departures from standard notions of rational choice modeling or modeling new ideas within existing frameworks. The second aim is to encourage a "modeling dialogue" between theorists, experimentalists, and other empiricists---what do the theoretical models imply for empirical analysis and vice versa?
Instructions for Poster Presenters
We will provide you with an easel, 30×40 inch white poster board, push pins, and tape. You may arrange the poster board either horizontally or vertically. After the last paper presentation on Friday, you will head to the O'Hara Student Center Dining Room to set up your poster. We will break you up into two groups so that each group presents their posters for half of the time during the reception. When it is your group's turn, you should be near your poster to answer questions, discuss your project, etc. Also plan to have your poster set up for display on Saturday. This will give participants more time to see your work, although you will not be expected to be next to your poster during the day.
Transportation and Parking
If you are staying at the Marriott, we will have a shuttle available to transport you to and from the hotel to campus on Friday and Saturday. The shuttle will make one trip from the hotel each morning (NOTE TIME CHANGE at 8:00 am Friday and 8:30 am Saturday) and one trip to the hotel at the conclusion of each day's activities (at 8:30 pm Friday and 4:00 pm Saturday).
If you requested daily campus parking, you can park in the Posvar Hall garage (underneath the building, enter from Roberto Clemente Drive). We will provide you with a hang tag for your car when you arrive on campus.
