About the conference

The Behavioral Models of Politics Conference brings together scholars to address various ways analytical models of politics can be broadened to include "behavioral" concepts, both within and beyond the standard rational choice, game theoretic paradigm. The research presented by a diverse group of international scholars features a mix of theoretical, experimental, and other empirical approaches from political science, economics, and related disciplines.

In 2016, the conference is being held at the University of Pittsburgh. It is supported by the National Science Foundation and the University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and includes a pre-conference graduate workshop that introduces experimental methodology and stochastic and computational modeling. Organized by Jonathan Woon (Pittsburgh) and David Siegel (Duke), the first conference was first held at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and the second at Duke University in 2014.
