The County will open Berrenda Road, starting today (Wed-18th) at the east end, with a grader, and will stay with it.
At this time out they are only opening a path, they are not rebuilding the roadway.
Nathan said they where getting a new loader Monday and this would be a prefect place to start it out, but he stopped short of saying it would be here Monday.
I asked how long before everything would be rebuilt the way it was. Years? No, he said, not years.
He had a GPS camera and took pictures all along the road. To show to FEMA.
The County has 565 miles of road and they all look like Berrenda Road.
Every place got as much rain as we did.
The county is responsible for all the dikes in the county. The county is footing the bill for those three big machines working in the Percha in Hillsboro. All the dikes are in worse shape then the roads and they have priority over the road work, for existing funds and any FEMA funds that come it in the future.
