BRC Roads--Sept 14
Well, we finally got some rain--over 6 inches for the week so far.
Bill has toured the roads the past couple of days checking out the condition of our roads.
He has found:
Four of our low water crossings have failed (Gen Crook, Mangas, Cochise and Child of Waters), sections under mined and washed aside.
1. Mangas is impassable, luckily Leslie and Suha are away until Sept 27.
2. Juh is rough, the worst spot is right before Cochise, where those double culverts are. And a few places on Cochise.
3. Tulpia, the rip rap of large rocks held, but many have rolled down into the ditch. And further down the large water volume ate 1/3 of the road away. ( We will need another load of stones.)
Berrenda Road is something else, east of Juh Trail very bad, east of Ted and Heidi there is no road, it is gone. Ted and Heidi are trapped in, everyone else will be able to to get out over Horsethief Pass. (maybe)
He is contacting Charles Coleman and Tom Myers to commence repairs when it becomes possible.
At some point in the future every foot of our roads will need to be bladed.
BUT first what the situation calls for is enough to make them passable for a passenger car. Push the rocks off the road and fill in the worst ruts.
The major list for blading:
The intersection of Nana and Victorio.
Victorio by Tiswin
Juh Trail, no further the the intersection of Cochise.
Cochise the whole thing.
Caje and Izilgan there are a few spots that are washed out. Do just those spots.
Child of Waters, the low water crossings and the spots where water has crossed the road and left a rut.
It's still raining and things may get worse.
We are unsure of the status of Hwy 27 and 26.
