Jonathan and Matt put together a weight and balance calculator Excel spreadsheet for the DG1000 that may be useful for quick estimates. Just enter the relevant data in the uncolored/shaded unlocked cells and it will determine if the glider is within limits and within max gross. There are sub-tables for data entry for tail ballast weights and water ballast that are linked to the main table. The water ballast inputs in the sub-table adjust for needed tail water ballast in the main table. I also copied the polar to the spreadsheet and ran some speed performance comparisons that could be useful if one intends on using water ballast or to look at performance versus weight.
