1990-05-26 Game 2 — 6 hours of misery!

1990-07-10 ALL-STAR GAME — Another miserable night! A 1hr 8min rain delay; first ever for an All-Star game! Nats only get 2 hits; an All-Star record low! The attendance is the lowest in 28 years…..since the game was last played in Wrigley in '62!

1990-08-08 — The 2nd anniversary of Opening Night! What a game! The game is scoreless through 9. The Cards get 2 in the top of the 10th; the CUBS answer back with 2 of their own! The Cards get 1 in their half of the 13th; the CUBS get one in the bottom! Finally Dawson drives in the winning run in the 15th inning!!!

1990-09-07 — CUBS down 4 - 2, but have the bases loaded with one out in the 9th. Berryhill hits one to the wall, but it is caught; 1 run scores. Then BIG LEE SMIFF strikes out Walton to end the game!

1991-07-26

1991-08-24

1991-09-10

1992-06-14 — A perfect afternoon with Andrew!

1992-07-09 — CUBS manage only 3 hits in a 12 inning loss. Note the prominent "Old Style" on the front cover and "Bud" on the back cover.

1992-07-27 — Sammy leads off with a home run on the first pitch! Then drives in the second run in the 5th and scores the winning run in the 8th!

1992-08-08 — Opening Night + 4. Scored tied in the 9th. Little Dougie leads of with a base hit. He goes to 3rd on Sandberg's single. Gracie hits a sac fly; CUBS win!! (See article after scorecard)

1992-08-30 — Em and I nearly saw history as Jim Bullinger had a no-hitter through 7 innings. Kirt Manwaring led off the 8th with a home run for the only hit of the game for the Giants! How exciting!!!!! (See article after scorecard)

1993-08-03 — A very late first game of the year!

1993-08-17 Game 1 — Complete game by Guzman…who, for some reason, is NOT listed in the Baseball Encyclopedia!

1993-08-17 Game 2 — Sammy makes a great catch in each game!

1994-07-04 — 35 minute rain delay in the 7th. CUBS score a run in the 9th to tie it. Both teams score in the 11th. 69 minute rain delay in the 14th!!! Rox score 2 in the 15th! (See article after scorecard)

1994-08-05 — Little did we know that 5 days after this game, the season would be over. Another strike (lockout?); this time, no World Series.

1995-09-04 — Sammy homers! Complete game, 5-hit shutout for Castillo

1996-04-01 — Opening Day! 35 degrees; 30 mph wind! Sandberg returns!! CUBS win in 10!

1996-06-16 — Father's Day! Bob Keeshin (Captain Kangaroo) threw out the first pitch!!

1996-07-14 — Ozzie Smith's last Wrigley Field appearance.

1996-08-30 — Kevin Foster throws a 3-hitter (over 8 innings) and drives in 2 of the CUBS 3 runs! Glavine goes the distance but takes the loss.

1997-04-25 — The season was basically over at this early date as the CUBS started 0 - 14! This victory was their first at Wrigley, to give them a 3 - 17 mark. Kevin Foster throws his only complete game of the year (and 1 of 2 for his career). Ryne Sandberg ties Joe Morgan for all-time home runs by a second baseman. Sammy hits a 3-run dinger. A perfect day! Note the back of the scorecard advertises something other than food and beer or cigarettes! (See article after scorecard)

1997-06-13 — The FIRST INTERLEAGUE GAME! Yes, the Brewers were still in the American League in 1997 so this was the CUBS first junior circuit opponent sine 1945! The field was covered with fog due to a strong, cold wind off the lake.

1997-07-20 — This time Foster gave up 4 home runs!

1997-09-20 — Ryne Sandberg Day!!!! Joins Ernie, Billy (and later Ronnie) in having their numbers retired. A great day…until the 9th inning. CUBS led 2 - 0 until Terry Adams came in and gave up 3 runs. A typical heartbreaker.

1998-06-21 — Harry Caray died in the off-season, so his picture is on the scorecard cover. A beautiful, 90 degree Father's Day; not even a CUBS loss could spoil it.

1998-08-01 — Poppy, Andrew (who kept score!), and I watch the CUBS give up 12 hits, but still win! One was a ground rule double into the ivy which would have scored the tying run!

1998-08-18 — Trachsel pitched a great 8 2/3 innings, but left with the tying run at the plate. Beck came in and got 2 quick strike outs to nail it down.

1998-08-21 — Andrew keeps score again as Sammy hits #49, and O-Henry Rodriguez and JO-se Her-NAN-dez each drive in a run in the bottom of the 9th to squeeze out the win!

1998-09-18 — Sammy upstages Harry as he and McGwire chase (and pass) Maris!

1998-10-03 Playoff — Wood is no match for Maddux, and the Braves sweep the CUBS in their first playoff appearance since '89. CUBS got there as the Wild Card by beating the Giants in a one-game playoff, perhaps Trachsel's best game ever!

1999-05-16

1999-06-13 — Interleague play continues as we face the hated cross-town rivals. There is a 3 1/2 hour rain delay in the 4th, so we left and finished scoring at home. Our personal attendance goes over 4 million!!!!

1999-08-26 — Giants score 6 in the 3rd, but CUBS keep battling back. In a game that featured 9 doubles, Mickey Morandini (the "Dandy Little Glove Man") gets a pinch-hit single in the 9th to drive in the winning run. Note the special "CUBS of the 20th Century" cover.
