1970-06-24 — Ernie pinch-hit 3-run homer in the 9th (off of Seaver - complete game) to make it close.

1970-07-22 — Complete game by Hands. Hickman - 4 RBIs.
1970-08-19 — Complete game by Jenkins (plus a home run!). Hickman - 5 RBIs!
1971-04-06 — Opening Day. Temp: 40; wind from the north at 20 mph. Another Fergie complete game (a 3-hitter)! This time the victim was Gibson.
1971-07-16 — Ho hum….another Fergie complete game and home run.

1971-08-21 — First game with Wendy! Kessinger and Beckert play in their 1000th game. Complete games by both Hands and Billingham. Note: Last scorecard to include ads for cigarettes!

1973-07-29 — Fergie finally loses a game! After many years, the price of the best box seats has risen to $3.75 (from $3.50)!!! Also….Ernie is listed as "Coach". :-(
1973-08-15 — Ouch! Rico Carty (playing against his former team) gets his first hit as a Cub.
1974-05-27 — Complete game by……Ken Frailing! (Which, as it turns out, was the only one of his career!). OK, so he gave up 14 hits; he also had 2 hits and 3 RBIs. The price of a box seat goes up to $4.00!
1974-07-07 — Aaron hits home run #725 in his last game at Wrigley field. Sidebar: this game puts our personal attendance total over the 1 million mark.
1975-05-10 — First game since we were married!
1976-06-27 — Joe Wallis hits a 2-run homer in the 9th to make it close. Box seats go up to $4.50! Bleachers go from $1.00 to $1.25!
1976-08-13 — Cubs win in the bottom of the 15th! And the game only took 3hr46min! This was game 1 of a double-header; we did not stay for game 2.
1976-10-02 — Burris complete game. Madlock wins 2nd straight batting title (so of course the Cubs traded him in the off-season!).
1977-06-26 — Cubs, at 45 - 22, in 1st place by 7 games! (sigh….) Box seats go up another 50 cents to $5.00! Ernie inducted into HOF!
1977-07-07 — Two weeks later and now we're in 1st by only 3 games. Uh-oh.
1977-08-13 — Ouch! Bake McBride hits a 3-run homer in the 11th!
1978-06-11 — The steady increase continues as box seats now cost $5.50 and bleacher seats have gone up to $1.50! However, they now have Senior Citizens (Tuesday) and Ladies (Friday) Day prices of $1.00 (regular grandstand seats).
1978-09-03 Game 1 — 15,000th Cubs game!!!! Most by one team in one city.
1978-09-03 Game 2 — In the only game he ever started for the Cubs, Manny Seoane lasts 1.1 innings.
1979-06-02 — Box seats jump to $6.00. And…a new kind of Frosty Malt!
1979-06-30 — What a game! Tied 3 - 3 after 9, there is a long rain delay. In the 11th, the Mets score 6 runs! Is the game over? No way! In the bottom of the 11th, the Cubs get a run and then Mike Vail hits a pinch-hit grand slam! 5 runs! But it's not enough; Cubs lose 9 - 8. The 11 runs in the 11th is the most ever scored in an extra inning!
1979-07-06 — A LAUGHER!!!!
1979-09-03 — Andrew's first game! (OK, so he wasn't born yet). Also, Lou Brock's final game in Chicago (yes….it still hurts).
