Variations on Jane Austen
Wonderland
‘You don’t know that at all,’ said Alice.
‘It depends what you mean by KNOW, you know,’ said Humpty Dumpty.
‘Well, I know what I know,’ said Alice, by this time feeling a little uneasy.
‘And I know what I know, and that’s all that matters,’ answered Humpty Dumpty. ‘A prosperous young dormouse is sure to want to be married to a lady dormouse who wants to marry him. And so the world goes round.’
‘I’m not sure I follow that at all,’ said Alice.
‘Then follow me instead,’ said Humpty Dumpty, as he hurried away.
