Statement of Purpose
The purpose of history is to inform us about the past. But as a much more relevant and important skill, history class serves to enlighten our minds. It helps us to read, write, and think as informed members of a society. A singular knowledge of the past does little to promote a better future. Well reasoned individuals capable of discerning truth from lies, knowledgeable in the ways of thinking, writing, and reading, and capable of manipulating the digital beyond will define how history is shaped in our near future.
