Basketball

Registrations are open for the Balmoral School basketball teams for Term 1. Games are played on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Auckland Grammar School. We enter mixed boys/girls, year 7/8 teams. We have 2 competitive teams and the rest are social teams where you can choose to play with friends. Please get your parent to go to the school website and register you to play. Trials for the competitive teams are after school on Tuesday 10th February and Monday 16th February. All players that want to trial must be registered to be able to attend. Everyone who wants to play is placed in a team.

Netball

Balmoral School netball runs over Terms 2 & 3. Organisation for all our teams starts in Term 1.  As a pre-season warm up we are running 2 optional intermediate netball musters at the Windmill Park Netball Courts. The aim of this is to teach our Year 7s how to play 7-a-side netball and to give our Year 8s a chance to get some court time before trials. Those who have never played netball, but would like to try it out, can come along and be shown how to play. These sessions are not trials and will be a social time and an opportunity to try out playing in a number of positions. I will have a group of experienced MAGS netballers there to coach players and umpire the games. Please go to the school website and register on the netball page. There is no charge to attend.

Bands

Band sign up sheets are outside the blue music room in the hallway. If you would like to audition for a band this year please come up and write your name down. Please remember, you already need to play an instrument to try out for the bands. If you would like to sing in a band, you need to be able to sing on your own, in tune, with a karaoke track. Choir is a great group to sign up for if you like singing but prefer singing with others. Auditions will start next TUESDAY morning. Have a song prepared to play before then. Good luck :)

Basketball

Registrations are open for the Year 5& 6 Balmoral School basketball teams for Term 1. Games are played on Tuesday evenings at Auckland Grammar School. Flippaball

Each term Balmoral School enters teams into the Atlantis Flippaball League. This is open to all Year 4-6 students. 

Flippaball is a fun modified waterpolo game where you can stand on the bottom of the pool. The only pre-requisite is that each player must be able to swim 25m of the pool unaided. Games are played on Sundays and there is no separate training.

If you are interested please get your parent to register you on the school website by the end of Wednesday as games start this Sunday. On the form you can select what friends you want in your team. Everyone who wants to play is placed in a team.
