Personal Life:
I always believed in Hard work and I firmly stand by "You get what you give". There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. I feel lucky to have grown up in a wonderful family. I love my parents and my sister and thankful to them for everything they have done for me. My father had to struggle to fund his education while meeting basic needs. He went on to get a Gold medal in Masters in Commerce at Andhra University. He used to tell me one thing, work hard and you will see the benefits, work smart and hard you will enjoy the benefits. Contrary to my dad my Mother discontinued her studies after high school. Inspite of going to a Telugu medium school she learnt English on her own and taught us. She is an amazing source of general knowledge. My sister has enormous amounts of dedication and I have rarely seen people with such focus and determination. She made it to med school and is now a REAL doctor. As a child I did not have to search for any role models as my parents set high standards for me. I get my strength, motivation and patience from them.
My Name:
My full name is Paluri Naga Venkata Bala Manohar ( P. N. V. B. Manohar :) Paluri is my surname, Naga means the god of snakes, Venkata refers to Lord Venkatesha, Bala means child and Manohar means One who wins over mind! I wonder what my parents were thinking while naming me. As for my nick names I accrued a huge list over time: Manu, Bala, Bama, Banti, Chinni, Balam, Balma, Chitti, Khasi, Mano, Wall, Warne, Manoharaa and counting! Every one of them has an interesting story behind it :)
Few things i love:
Food, Travel, Hiking, Cooking, Racquet sports, Running, Coding, Naruto, Movies and Music in no specific order.
Travel:
I am lucky to have travelled a lot. I owe it partly to my dad who loves it and partly to my jobs and studies. I have visited more than 15 states in India, more than 15 states in US and 6 countries in Europe. You can check my photo collection for latest Pictures.
Food:
At one point in my life I really enjoyed my food and I also rate myself pretty good at cooking. But, having read many books and experienced life in various parts of the world I have come to a sad realization that Food should only be the fuel to keep you going. It should never become your reason for happiness or satisfaction. I prefer mostly vegan food but break the rule and eat vegetarian on occasions when I have to experience the local culture and traditions.
Movies:
I have a few in the back of my mind but one thing strikes the most: The character of Roberto Benigni in Life is Beautiful. The only way to live is to live happily :-)
Music:
I spend most of my time at work so I prefer instrumental. Yanni and Amethystium are my favorite.
Yearbook:
I had an amazing time during my undergraduate studies. After four awesome years we parted our ways but the memories are still fresh. Here is what they have to say about me! Disclaimer: They are my friends, so they will only say nice things about me :-)
