1. POSTING POLICY

Since ba-acappella has hundreds of subscribers, please be thoughtful about your postings.

Observe these rules: postings should be about concerts, auditions, groups, and other subjects related to a cappella music in the Bay Area. Please do not post anything not relevant to the Bay Area. Please include a location (at least a region such as "north bay"; a city is better) in the subject line of every post.

Show announcements are a main topic of interest to the community. Please don't hesitate to post information about your show. Subscribers are all over the bay!

2. SUBSCRIBING

There are 2 ways:

* Use the Google groups web siteto subscribe, or
* Email a message (subject/message text don't matter) to
ba-acappella+subscribe@googlegroups.com . (Note the "+" in the address.) You should then get a welcome message back. In particular, this email method allows subscribing from any email address, as long as you can validate the received message.

3. WHERE TO POST MESSAGES

After subscribing, to send a message to the mailing list, there are 2 ways:

* use the Google web interface, clicking on "New Topic" at the Google groups web site
* or, just email your message to ba-acappella@googlegroups.com (after you are already a member, using a "from" email address that matches your subscription)

Important: please always include a location like a city name in the subject of your message.

4. UNSUBSCRIBING
There are 2 ways to unsubscribe:
* Use the Google groups web site to unsubscribe (use the "my settings" menu in the upper right corner of the main page.)
* Send a message (subject/message text don't matter) to ba-acappella+unsubscribe
@googlegroups.com (after you are already a member, using a "from" email address that matches your subscription)

5. IS THERE A NATIONAL A CAPPELLA DISCUSSION? A GOOD GENERAL A CAPPELLA WEB SITE?

The Usenet newsgroup rec.music.a-cappella is a great national source of discussion. The Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA) is a great jumping off point for worldwide a cappella: www.casa.org.
