Please read the following instructions carefully.
AYSO has partnered with Blue Sombrero/Sports Connect and is using a new on-line registration web site for players and volunteers. This will require the creation of a new account if you have not registered for our region using Blue Sombrero before and the player and/or volunteer information will need to be entered - the old account and information from eAYSO was not copied over to the new system.
Registration is open for the Fall 2022 season. Players can be registered until the last week of October as long as there is room for them to join a team in their division.
Be sure to select the 2022 Fall Core program.
The AYSO Nation Organization has several changes that were effective starting with the 2017 fall season.
The first change is the playing age calculation. AYSO now goes by the birth-year of a player, and is based on the age of the player as of December 31st of the next year. The exception to this rule is any division below the 6U division (more information below).
The second change is how the age divisions are defined and the division names. The age divisions (again, for 6U and above, the age shown reflects their age at the end of the next calendar year) are now:
Playground soccer: 3-4 years old (must be at least 3 years old by the start of the fall season)
6U: 5-6 years old (which translates to they are 4-5 years old by the end of this year)
8U: 7-8 years old (which translates to they are 6-7 years old by the end of this year)
10U: 9-10 years old (which translates to they are 8-9 years old by the end of this year)
12U: 11-12 years old (which translates to they are 10-11 years old by the end of this year)
14U: 13-14 years old (which translates to they are 12-14 years old by the end of this year)
16U: 15-16 years old (which translates to they are 14-15 years old by the end of this year)
18U: 17-18 years old (which translates to they are 16-17 years old by the end of this year)
19U: 19 years old ( (which translates to they are 18 years old by the end of this year)
The registration system will automatically determine the age divisions for the players.
More information regarding playing age can be found on the National AYSO website here.
Region registration fees:
Regular
Playground: $90
6U: $100
8U and older: $120
VIP: $100
Early bird discount: $10 per player
Valid through 07/11/2022

The above fees do not reflect the national AYSO player fee (currently $20.00) or any online payment processing fee.
AYSO has partnered with Blue Sombrero/Sports Connect to handle all registrations (player and volunteer). Account, player and volunteer information was not copied over from the eAYSO system, except for volunteer certifications (training certifications, such as coach training, referee training, board member training, etc.).
The process is:
Preregister online at http://ayso.bluesombrero.com/ayso256 (you MUST include /ayso256 in the URL in order to have your account associated with our region otherwise your child will be registered in the wrong region and will not appear on our list of registered players). If you don't already have a Blue Sombrero account, you will first need to create one, entering your information. You only need to create an account once. Instructions on creating a new account are further down on this page, which you can get to by clicking here.
For Players:
You will then enter the information for each of your players (the system calls them participants). Be sure to esign each player's form.
Pay the registration fees online (details on the fees are outlined above)
A verification of the player's age will also done by looking at their birth certificate - we do not keep a copy, we only use it for age verification. The verification can be done at one of our player assessments.
For Volunteers:
Click on Volunteer, and then Volunteer Roles
Enter the information for the volunteer and select what role(s) they are volunteering for. For a role that will deal with a specific team or division, such as head coach or assistant coach, you must select the division (age and gender) to volunteer for. For other roles, such as referee or board member, just select one division - there is no need to volunteer to be a referee for every division that you may referee for. More information for on volunteer roles can be found here.
After you have completed and submitted the volunteer form (including esigning the form), please go to eTrainU and take the Safe Haven course, which is online. All volunteers must take the Safe Haven course each year (note: the AYSO year goes from August 1st to July 31st) For more information regrading online training, click here. Coaches, assistant coaches, team parents and referees must also take the CDC Concussion Awareness, Cardiac Arrest and Safe Sport training. Unlike Safe Haven, these course only needs to be taken once.
You will receive an email from Sterling Volunteers. This is the company that AYSO has enlisted to perform the volunteer background checks. The email will contain a link to click on which will take you to the Sterling website. Please coordinate with our Regional Coach Administrator before having the background check done. Once you have done that, you will need to create an account over there and answer a few questions before you can submit the request for a background check. There is a charge for the background but the process should be setup so that the region will pay for it. If you do pay for it yourself, print a copy of the receipt and turn it in at the snack shack - you will be issued a refund check from our region. Next, there is a fingerprinting requirement. As with the background check, the region will pay for it. Please coordinate with our Regional Coach Administrator before having the fingerprinting done. Once you have done that, you will need to create an account on the site used to schedule an appointment for the fingerprinting and answer a few questions.
If you are the primary account owner and need to register your spouse or child as a volunteer, click here
PLEASE NOTE: Your player's application will not be fully processed until the payment has been made. This means you will not receive emails about player assessments or other important dates and information until the application and payment is received.
