Axbridge Community Theatre was founded in 2000 on a wave of enthusiasm generated by that year’s production of Axbridge’s ten-yearly pageant.  It began with a series of home-grown plays based, like the Pageant, on local history and events.  Since then it has gained a reputation for a high standard of performance in a varied programme of established dramas, and currently stages two productions a year.  Recent productions have included Blue Remembered Hills (Dennis Potter), Time and the Conways (JB Priestley), Rumours (Neil Simon), Out of Sight . . . Out of Murder ( Fred Carmichael), Macbeth (William Shakespeare), Pygmalion (Bernard Shaw), A View From The Bridge (Arthur Miller), two one-act plays by Tom Stoppard, Shakespeare's HamletWhen We Are Married (JB Priestley), The Crucible (Arthur Miller), Blithe Spirit (Noel Coward), Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Arthur Miller's All My Sons and The Ladykillers (Graham Linehan)

ACT'productions are presented in the Town Hall in Axbridge's medieval Square. We have devised ways to convert this multi-purpose hall into a small but intimate theatre space with an adaptable stage and audience layout. Depending on the needs of different productions the theatre can seat an audience of between 50 and 75. The seating is tiered towards the back so all seats have a good view of the stage.

Our online box office, accessed by a link on this website, is open 24/7 for 6 weeks before each production. Tickets may be purchased using Visa, Mastercard or Maestro. There is no booking fee. Tickets are sent as an e-mail which you can print out. If
you prefer tickets to be posted there is a charge of £1.50, or sent as an SMS message to your mobile there is a charge of 50p.
