Vegetable Tempura

Ingredients:

Vegetable Oil

1 cup Kikkoman Tempura Batter Mix

3/4 cup ice-cold water

Assorted prepared vegetables

Directions:

1. Pour oil at least 2 inches deep into an electric deep fryer, wok or a deep, wide skillet. Heat oil between 350o and 360oF.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together batter mix and water until blended. Set bowl inside larger bowl filled with ice cubes to keep batter cold.

3. Pat vegetables dry with paper towels. Do not crowd the skillet. Leave enough room so you can turn the vegetables easily half-way through cooking.

4. Deep-fry 2 to 4 minutes until cooked and golden brown, turning pieces over once.

5. Remove. Drain on paper towels. Skim off cooked batter pieces from oil between batches.

6. Serve immediately with a hearty sprinkling of sea salt over the entire batch.
