Dear AP Readiness STEM Educators & APR Leads,
Thank you for registering for UCLA's Virtual AP Readiness STEM Program for 2020-21. We look forward to supporting you and your students on the AP Journey to Success!
The day starts with students and educators logging on to their desired first class prior to 8:30 AM and completing the “Attendance Sign-In Form”. This will open at 8 AM on Saturday and serve as our primary method of attendance collection along with the Evaluation at the end of the day. We found the Zoom Usage Reports to be very difficult to use for Attendance – primarily because a great number of students and teachers did not include their school in their “Screen Name.”
On Saturday, you are welcome to visit one of the “Support Rooms” listed at the bottom of the Agenda if you have any questions. I will be in the AP Readiness Headquarters, Ana Beltran from LAUSD will be in the APR Lead room.
Students are required to attend 2 Classes (one in the AM session and one in the PM session) in the same subject. For those who attended the September session, we have eliminated the Small Group Sessions.
Attached is the AP Readiness Instructional Schedule for Fall 2020. We have built in multiple breaks to help support students.
Also attached are the Student Instructions, Teacher Instructions, and Agenda with Links. At the bottom of the Agenda, the Tech support rooms are listed as well as the Teacher Reflection Session (Optional) at 12:45 pm.
Students will also receive an email message with pertinent information including the Agenda, the Schedule and the Student Instructions.
Instructor Handouts/Materials will be available via this Google Drive link beginning on Thursday, October 22nd (note that not all Instructors send materials ahead of time) - http://bit.ly/stemhandouts
As a participating teacher, you are expected to support the Instructors in the classes. You may move around rooms to check on your students, but it is expected that you will support the instructors. If you would like to work with a particular Instructor, please reply to this email and I will put you in contact.
Thank you for your dedication to students learning and we look forward to another/new great year of UCLA's AP Readiness Program.
Sincerely,
James Keipp
