The team results for the Manhattan Invitational meet for AMS
The team did a nice job on our first meet of the season! We were very short-handed due to family trips and soccer, but the teams performed well.
7th grade girls-5th place
8th grade girls-2nd place
7th grade boys-2nd place
8th grade boys-2nd place
Team results from Wamego
This year we left our Varsity squad at home, so our top 28 kids did not compete as we have two Varsity-only meets later in the season. Our JV and Developmental squads participated and did a nice job.
7th grade boys-2nd place
Team results from Emporia
Team results from Clay Center
We had an extremely windy and fairly warm meet at Clay Center on Tuesday. The kids fought through it, but all the times were affected a bit. Overall a good meet for us, although no team scores were kept.
Team results from Bonner Springs
The team competed in the Bonnor Springs Invitational on Saturday. There were a lot of schools present, and many that we had never competed against before. All the kids did a nice job, however the 8th grade boys and girls ran extremely well, they both earned a 1st place in the team score! Another excellent individual performance was turned in by Matt Pickering, his time of 10:57 was nearly a full minute faster than the 2nd place finisher!
Team results from the Little Apple Invitational
We had our best meet as a team Friday at our AMS-EMS Little Apple meet! Our kids ran really well in the wet and muddy conditions. They were really nervous about running in the weather, but once they got started, they realized that it was very cool (literally and figuratively) to run in such conditions, and they had fun. I can't wait until I can get the pictures uploaded, I will do that in the next few days.
The 8th grade boys and girls both earned a 1st place in the team scores, which is the first time that has happened this season! The 7th boys earned a 4th place finish and the 7th girls finished 5th. Official results can be downloaded or viewed on the VIF page.
Results from the Rock Creek meet
We had a great time at the Rock Creek meet! The kids ran very well, with many kids winning medals. This is one of my favorite meets, as there are a couple of extra JV divisions which allows kids a better chance to earn a medal. Results can be viewed or downloaded on this page.

The team results from the Wamego Invitational meet for AMS:
The kids did a nice job, but unfortunately due to many mess ups on the part of the people running the meet, we don't have 7th grade times beyond the first 15 finishers in that race.
The team results from the Clay Center Invitational meet for AMS:
Although there were no team scores kept, Preston Reid (8th grade girls) and Matt Pickering (7th grade boys) ran to a first place finish in their division. This was a meet with varsity and junior varsity divisions so many more kids had the chance to run against even competition. Click on the Very Important Files link on the right side of the page for latest spreadsheet of times. Later I will also be posting a sheet of the meet results showing all of the competitor's times as well.
The team results from the AMS-EMS meet:
The kids ran very well with most of them setting PR's (personal records).
The 7th grade boys earned a first place team score, the 7th grade girls earned 3rd, the 8th grade girls earned 3rd, and the 8th grade boys earned 4th place.
The Rock Creek Varsity-Junior Varsity meet (no team scores kept):
This was an individual meet only, there were no team scores recorded. There were four JV divisions in addition to the Varsity races, and as a result, many more of our kids earned medals or finished higher than normal.
The team results from the 2014 Centennial League meet for AMS:
The Centennial League results are in!

The AMS Cross Country Pasta Potluck Team/Family Dinner was a HUGE success! Many thanks to all the parents who organized and/or brought food. There were 240 people that attended! That is a phenomenal showing of support for our kids. I say this ALL the time, AMS has the BEST parents!

Note: only the top 3 finishers were counted in the team score at this meet, which hurt us as we have a large team with lots of solid runners in the middle of the group. When I figured team scores using the normal top five runners standard method of scoring, all our divisions earned 2nd place.
The Rock Creek Varsity-Junior Varsity meet (no team scores kept):
On Tuesday we travelled to Rock Creek and ran in their Varsity/Junior Varsity meet. The top 15 finishers in each division earned medals and AMS cleaned up! GREAT JOB AMS!!!

Little Apple Champions for the 2012 season.
This year's contest was the closest that it has ever been, with EMS slightly edging out our 7th graders, but especially strong performances turned in by the 8th grade boys and girls teams brought home the victory for AMS. The final score was AMS 48, EMS 36.
