Open Positions at Laser Technology Laboratory
The newly established Laser Technology Laboratory at International Antalya University invites applications for post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduate students for performing cutting-edge research in laser science and its technological applications. As the nature of our research is highly interdisciplinary, we welcome researchers with various technical backgrounds in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, material science, medicine and biomedical engineering. We offer a highly interdisciplinary first-class research environment in an enthusiastic and fun team. This is a great opportunity for motivated students and postdoctoral researchers to advance the boundaries of laser science and make important contributions to actual real-life problems in an internationally recognized team.
International Antalya University is a private, nonprofit institution located on a modern campus in Antalya, with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The University is supported by the Gaye Foundation, and is committed to the pursuit of excellence in both teaching and research. The medium of instruction is in English. If you have an interest in joining the group or any inquiries on opportunities in the group, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail to the PI (Dr. Umit Demirbas, umit79@alum.mit.edu).
Research Opportunities for Undergraduate Students: We have several small experimental or computational (simulation/analysis software) projects well suited as short-term projects for interested undergraduate students. The projects are also suitable for summer internship/practice students. For these positions, previous hands-on laboratory experience is helpful, but is not required. Students from Antalya International University and Akdeniz University are welcome to apply for these positions.
Research Opportunities for M.Sc. and Ph.D. Students: We have several projects on solid-state laser development that is suitable for MS and PhD students. For these positions, experience with lasers or biomedical optical imaging is a plus, but is not required. Antalya International University has recently started its MS Program of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Interested students should apply to the gradute school program at http://ece.antalya.edu.tr/. A generous monthly stipend will be available in this position.
Research Opportunities for Postdoctoral Researchers: A postdoctoral position is also open in Laser Technology Laboratory. For this position, experience with lasers or biomedical optical imaging is a plus. Successful candidates will be supported with a generous monthly stipend.
