關於通識年賽 About the Annual Quiz

通識年賽於2007年創辦，目的是向全港中學推廣以研究為本的通識教育，鼓勵學生多作發問、自由探索。透過進行研究、諮詢顧問、撰寫報告，以及出席研討會、討論會和會議並發表報告，通識年賽為學生提供了寶貴的機會，就感興趣的課題進行研究，並與顧問、其他學生和巿民分享成果。由2018-2019年度起，通識年賽旗下活動以「香港校際研究節」品牌形式呈獻。

Established in 2007, the Annual Quiz aims at promoting research-based general education among secondary schools in Hong Kong, with a view to encouraging students to build up an inquisitive and liberal mind.  Through conducting research, consulting advisors, writing reports, as well as making presentations at symposiums, seminars and conferences, the Annual Quiz provides precious opportunities for students to research on topics of interest, and share their findings with advisors, other students and the public.  Starting from 2018-2019, the various events of the Annual Quiz are presented under the brand "The Hong Kong Schools Research Festival".

「Quiz」一詞的意思，是指發問和作答。這個問與答的過程，對社會進步至為重要。研究人員不斷發問和尋找答案，解決我們面對的種種挑戰。

"Quiz" means asking questions and giving answers.  This question-and-answer process is essential for bringing advancements to the society.  Researchers keep asking questions and looking for answers to solve the many challenges confronting us.
