The Metropolis Garden Club meets on the second Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Metropolis Community Center during the months of September through June for a business meeting and a program. During the summer months we schedule field trips.

The Metropolis Garden Club will meet on Monday, December 8, at 11 am at the Metropolis Community Center, 900 West 10th Street, Metropolis, for their annual Christmas Party. This is a Potluck with paper products and drinks provided by officers. There is an optional gift exchange, about $10 to $15 value. Also optional, bring a can of food to be donated to COPE (Joyce T. will collect as part of her Garden Therapy Committee.)
Our next regular meeting will be on January 12, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Metropolis Community Center, 900 West 10th Street.
Hostesses will be Janis Bradford and Jan Broadway.
We will be making valentines for local nursing homes.

We have many ongoing projects, which include planting the black kettle at the Massac County Courthouse and around the flagpole at the Metropolis Library, planting and maintaining a small pollinator garden at the Barkhausen Cache River Wetlands Center, planting at the Veterans Park and at the Blue Star Marker at the I-24 rest area, planning pollinator gardens, separating and packing trees for 3rd graders for Arbor Day with the Massac County Soil and Water Conservation District, providing garden therapy activities at area nursing homes, providing floral arrangements for the Metropolis Library during National Garden Week, decorating the Curtis Home at Christmas, an annual plant sale, and more.
