Anne Hopkins Aitken died June 13, 1994. Born in Chicago, she and her husband founded the Diamond Sangha, a Zen Buddhist Society, in Honolulu. She lived and worked in the Koko An Zendo in Honolulu, the Maui Zendo at Peahi and most recently, the Palolo Zen Center. Survived by her husband, Robert; stepson, Thomas L. of Kaimu; sister Constance Hellyer of Washington state; brothers, L.A. Hopkins of Connecticut and Thayer Hopkins of California. Private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Diamond Sangha, 2737 Waiomao Road, Honolulu, HI 96816. Arrangements by Borthwick Mortuary.
