Lizard
Worldwide, some 3,500 lizard species in more than 300 genera are recognized today. Malaysia has 143 lizard species: 94 in Peninsular Malaysia and 82 in Sabah and Sarawak, divided into 9 families, of which skinks (Scincidae), geckos (Gekkonidae) and agamid lizards (Agamidae) are the most diverse and well represented.
