Dessert: It was tempting to go into the pastry shops... everything that we saw through the window looked delicious.
Gelato: The best gelato I had was at Blue Ice (Rome, near the Trevi Fountain), a chain gelateria. They offered two flavors plus an extra small cone for 2 Euros. I had white chocolate and nutella chocolate flavored gelato.
Other gelaterias: Most were under 2 Euros
Al Teatro (Venice): Chocolate flavored gelato
Gelateria dei Neri (Florence): Nutella Chocolate flavored gelato
Grom (Perugia): Caffe flavored gelato <---There's a Grom at Bleecker Street, NYC.
Venchi (Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport): Chocolate flavored gelato
Murano Glass Candy (not edible...)
Breakfast: Nutella filled croissant, nutella spreads, bread, salami, prosciutto, cheeses, cereal, sweet tart pies, donuts, cake, fruits, cappuccino, coffee, tea, orange juice, mineral water...
For every hotel we went to, breakfast felt more like an afternoon dessert.
Lunch: Pizza, Burger King, McDonalds, Cafes, Sandwich (panini) shops...
Rome: Termini Station have a lot of good food places..There are sandwich cafes all around Rome..
L'Antico Forno / Caffe Trevi (Rome, few steps fromTrevi Fountain) - had a prosciutto and cheese sandwich for 1,80 Euro.
Venice: Lots of pizza places and cafes.
Spizzico: This pizza place is the closest to NYC pizza.
Happy Pizza: first place we went to for pizza in the maze streets of Venice.
Florence: Pizza & Co. (1,25 Euro per slice)
Pisa: I had a chicken sandwich from a vendor truck near the Leaning Tower of Pizza and it was delicious! http://www.sottozero-pisa.it
Dinner:
There are so many restaurants with various types of food in Rome... This one was near our hotel.
La Cucina Nazionale (Rome)
Florence: Ristorante Cinese Le Sorgenti (Chinese Restaurant that serves both Italian and Chinese dishes!)
Perugia: Ristorante Ferrari
McDonalds:
There was only ONE of them in Venice. It is way overpriced (about over $30 US dollars for 3 Big Mac Meals.) However, I think it is awesome that the chocolate sundae was actually a Nutella flavored sundae.
