Postgraduate Studentships
Our university (CityU, Hong Kong) offers postgraduate studentships to full-time PhD students. The Postgraduate Studentship is granted on the basis of academic merit. Full-time research degree students are expected to have at least a bachelor’s degree with upper second class honour (or equivalent) or a good master’s degree. Exemption from the above may be considered if the student has a good publication record. The Studentship is normally renewed on a yearly basis. Continuation and renewal of the award are subject to satisfactory study progress, achievement in coursework results and performance in any academic-related duties assigned. The fellowship aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue PhD studies in Hong Kong. The Fellowship provides a generous annual stipend and a conference and research-related travel allowance per year for each awardee for a period up to three years. Around 300 PhD Fellowships will be awarded each year. The deadline for submitting an application for HKPFS is typically around late November or early December.
