Our Mission

Our mission is to create new knowledge through the exploration of Jamaica's natural flora and fauna. This will be done with the utmost sensitivity and care; through the rigorous and dedicated application of the scientific methods of investigation. In the process we aim the train the next generation of scientists and responsible global citizens who will responsibly manage the inheritance of their grandchildren. Through our research into plants, microorganisms, etc., we hope to encourage awareness and educate the world about the importance of environmental / species protection.

In our most daring project yet, we seek to create a repository of plant extracts for screening against a wide range of maladies, both human and animal. However, we will also seek to discover new food additives, flavouring agents, preservatives, etc for the food industry. The success of this ambitious endeavour hinges on a great deal of hardwork and God-given luck but we remain undaunted and unbelievablely hopeful in the task at hand.

Through the use of modern throughput techniques along with tried and true muscle power we aim to collect over 100 endemic plant species as a starting point for our mammoth project. We anticipate that this should cover a several year which will also include the establishment of a new laboratory.
