Advice from other parents and resources for ensuring safe and effective travel for their child should be abundant, because it is they who will be responsible for their child's well-being, not the school. The school simply agrees to accept the study plan, its time frame, and its products for credit (or not).

Parental involvement makes independent study abroad less costly, more flexible, and more accessible to students. There is no foreign school enrollment required, but rather a hands-on service venue.
