ICC Rome Statute Translation

General information

The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was agreed upon in 1998. The Rome Statute establishes the ICC, empowered with jurisdiction to bring to justice the perpetrators of the most heinous crimes known to the international community (war crimes, crimes against humanity, Genocide and potentially the crime of aggression); to ensure that such hideous crimes will not go unpunished.

Considering the importance of the Rome Statute and its undeniable contribution to international criminal law – including by listing international humanitarian law violations the constitute war crimes – and its value in delineating the boundaries of military legal actions, ALMA decided to translate the Rome Statute into Hebrew.
