Wrestling of the Week - February 16

Grade 11 wrestler Bailey Durning was selected by her teammate as Wrestler of the Week on February 16 (my sincere apologies for the delay). Bailey was selected in recognition for some big wins she recorded in the month of February. A week after receiving this award Bailey went on to capture the bronze medal at the BC High School Championships at a very competitive 64 kilogram weight class. Known for her intense style and explosive takedowns it is not surprising that Bailey was recognized by her peer for this award.

A shout out to those Island wrestlers who were recognized by coaches with an Island Elite Award on February 16^th as well. Good work Nolan Badovinac and Savannah Pare. Honorable mention to Meagan Kuruvita who was highlighted but had already received the award.
