Please find information about an Aboriginal Wrestling Camp/Clinic being offered the evening of Thursday February 4th in Port Alberni. While the camp targets aboriginal youth it is open to all wrestlers. There are two sessions:

Session 1 – Novice/Beginner (Ages 5+): 4:00 – 5:30 PM This 1.5 hour session will focus on introducing the exciting sport of wres- tling through easy drills, games and fun! All ages 5+ welcome.

Session 2 – Intermediate/Elite (Ages 11+): 6:30 – 8:30 PM This 2 hour session is for wrestlers who want to learn more about improv- ing technique, strategies. Advanced instruction and tips.

Our mat space/capacity for the Novice/Beginner session will be somewhat limited but we will have more mat space available for the elite session. World Silver Medallist and Vancouver Island’s own Stacie Anaka will be a clinician alongside Alberni Wrestling Club coaches.

Please encourage interested athletes to register. In particular if you have aboriginal athletes who might be candidates for the 2017 North American Indigenous Games please have them register. Those with a serious interest in the NAIG team that require accommodations please have them contact me.
