Mr. Rick Schievink - Head Instructor

Rick has been the Head Instructor of the Alberni District Hockey Academy since 2004.  In addition to a range of professional playing and coaching experience Rick is currently the Director of Hockey Operations for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL).  We are very fortunate to have someone with his expertise and knowledge guiding our Academy.  Mr. Kevin Willison - Guest Instructor

Kevin is the Head Coach for the BCHL Alberni Valley Bulldogs.  A former NHL player, Kevin brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Hockey Academy including years of experience coaching at the Edge Hockey School and a variety of professional teams.

We are fortunate to regularly have players from the BCHL's Alberni Valley Bulldogs join us as on ice instructors.

 Mr. John McDonald - Counselor

Mr. McDonald is a counselor at ADSS and ensures that the timetables work for the students. 

 Mr. Carl Poole - Teacher/Instructor

Mr. Poole is a teacher at Alberni District Secondary School.  He works primarily with the senior hockey classes.  In addition to experience playing Junior Hockey, Mr. Poole has been a referee in both the WHL and BCHL.

 Mr. James Messenger - Administrator

Mr. Messenger is a Physical Education teacher at EJ Dunn Middle School.  He is relatively new to the sport of hockey but he is no stranger to elite sports.  A former provincial and national medallist in the sport of Olympic Wrestling, Mr. Messenger has been selected to coach the Canadian National Wrestling Team.
